“Dress for success” - trial of the Hammel VB750

Trial of the Hammel VB750.

Posted 21 February 2017

We have had a fantastic few months setting all sorts of sales records here at StockRock. Due to the ongoing success of the quarry, we have had to look for new plant and equipment options.

Over the last month we have been trialing the Hammel VB750 which is more commonly used as a re-cycler for the resizing of demolition waste to reduce landfill volumes.

The Hammel VB750 has a twin shaft ripper design that is a low speed but high torque machine. This model has a 350 horse power Cat engine and has crushed up to 1300 ton in one day. The guys at the quarry love that you cant block it - a problem we have had with other rock crushing equipment.

The unique design is fully automated and if a big rock gets into the wrong place it will automatically put the shafts into reverse. It also stop the shafts if there is too much product falling onto the conveyor.

If the trial works well, we may look at the slightly bigger version which is a VB850 which has longer shafts and 480 horse power.
